During her appearance on The View, Vice President Kamala Harris stated that if faced with the same situation, her presidency would have been quite similar to President Joe Biden's.
During an extensive series of media appearances, which featured 60 Minutes and the widely followed podcast Call Her Daddy, Harris appeared on The View on Tuesday. Apart from criticizing Donald Trump for spreading inaccurate information about the Biden administration's hurricane response, Harris also highlighted the distinctions between herself and the president.
Asked what alterations she would have implemented if she had been in his place, she couldn't identify any specific measures. The vice president clarified that this was because many decisions made in the current administration were the outcome of collaborative efforts.
“There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of — and I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had an impact,” Harris said. “The work that we have done — for example, capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month for our seniors — is something I care deeply about, allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and bring the cost of prescription medication down for seniors; but my intention is to expand that for all Americans. The work we have done to invest in American industries, whether it be in terms of manufacturing and creating almost 800,000 new jobs around manufacturing, those were all shared priorities.”
“I plan on having a Republican in my cabinet,” Harris said. “You ask me what’s the biggest difference between Joe Biden and me. Well, that would be one of the differences. I’m going to have a Republican in my cabinet.”
