I wished I would have been there. The day after the runoff. The power brokers at Matrix and Alabama Power kicked back lighting a big cigar. Smiling on their self that they had just pulled off another one and didn't have to worry about anything for another 4 years.
Suddenly that chair they were sitting in falls back and the burning end of the cigar ends up in their mouth. They're coughing and choking. It just hit them like a fire alarm in the night. They got two libertarian candidates on the ballot. Houston we have a problem. Even more so than the Republican primary.
You see 40% of the votes are going to be Democratic and they're not going to vote
for Tweedledee or Tweedledum all they've got to pull away is 11% of the republican voters and you win. We already know the incumbents are not popular and you've already got the message just hammer it away. Looks like Chip and Totin will go down in history as being the first people to give the libertarian party access to the ballot in Alabama.
