Earlier this morning, I had a phone interview with former Congressman Mo Brooks regarding the ongoing global conflicts. According to him, the "world is on a powder keg."
I started by asking what, if anything, the United States should be doing in Israel. And Brooks replied we should "be doing exactly what we are right now. Except for arming their foes," The former Congressman states, "We are spending nearly 800 billion dollars annually. Giving military aid to Israel's foes,"
Then I posed the question that if Hamas was out for the destruction of Israel, shouldn't Israel raze them first? Brooks explains "that war is brutal, and the only way to win is by collapsing your enemy's ability to wage war." He didn't outright call for total war, but I get where he was going with his comparisons of what the Union did to the South during the civil war and the Allies laying waste to Nazi Germany during World War Two. I agree with him 100%. Ultimately, we have to destroy them before they destroy us.
The former Representative from North Alabama also believes that the U.S. turns a blind eye to the atrocities committed by Saudi Arabia's brutal regime "because of their massive oil reserves. "
On Russia "they were a significant threat to Europe and wanted to recapture the land they controlled under the Warsaw Pact. But it's up to Europe to protect Europe, not the United States spending billions a year on their defense. When we are 34 trillion dollars in debt, that is the more significant threat to the U.S."
Finally I asked him
could he see a scenario in which we had to go to war in the Middle East, and then Russia went after Poland, followed by China invading Taiwan? What would we do?
The Congressman explained, "That is what the Axis of evil is trying to do. Spread us thin and then wait us out. We value life more than these people and will not stomach many casualties. So that is their strategy."
Stay tuned for next month when Congressman Mo Brooks gives his opinion on different threats facing the United States at the Alabama Political Contributor.
