Interview with Senator Greg Albritton

Updated: Nov 25, 2023

I had the pleasure of interviewing Second District Congressional Candidate Senator Greg Albritton yesterday. I came away very impressed with his command of the issues facing our nation. I expect him to be a formidable candidate in the upcoming election. Despite having a full schedule, he managed to allocate some time to allow me to interview him.

The thing that impressed me is how he handled my questions. He is a no-nonsense kind of guy. Unlike a lot of politicians who speak just to hear their own voice, he answered my questions directly and to the point.

When examining his legislative career, the bills he sponsored have an almost populist appeal. He looks out for the little man. This is the type of type of proactive leadership we need. He touted his accomplishments of overseeing the general fund, making it the strongest in state history. Raising Alabamas credit rating while the nation's fell

He got into the race because of "fear of how this district may affect and afflict south Alabama." Though he now lives in District One prior to redistricting, he represented eight counties in District Two and has lived there for more than thirty years.

He believed the biggest problem facing America is how we spend our money. Saying we "need leadership to take action." If not,"our fiscal policy is in a death spiral."

On foreign policy, he wants to avoid conflict but is concerned that "we are weak" and are taking a "back seat" instead of taking the leadership role. He "hopes to avoid international issues until we can get our own house in order."

The Senator believes "the election is the key to solving this problem." Saying "people have to take the election and power of government in their hands."

On President Trump's legal troubles, he said, "us Republicans have a tendency to Get ourselves in trouble worse than a nine year old boy," That said, he "looks forward to serving with President Trump."

He faces numerous opponents in the March primary to see who will be the GOP nominee for the second district.
