As another Thanksgiving has arrived it gives us time to ponder not only the things that we should be thankful for but feel for the people that have nothing. I am far from a socialist, but we are a rich country that has too many vast resources for so many to have so little.
I could go on and theorize about why this existence has developed. I could blame Democratic policies as well as Republicans. I could blame the individuals. There is lots of condemnation to go around. But now is not the time for that.
There are plenty of hit pieces I could write on our corrupt leaders. But this is one of the few days of the year to enjoy peace and tranquility. Enjoy this holiday.
Instead of trying to inform people of the evil, greedy ways of our government I will instead focus on times gone by. On this day I will ponder not only on the things that I am grateful for but also on what I no longer have in my life that once delighted me and be happy for the moments in time that I shared with them. In actuality, they have never left me. Though they are no longer with me in the present they forever will remain within my heart.Thank you for the joyful memories. I miss you all and think of you often.
Of the many people that have been in my life as friends and family just a faint few remain. Come tomorrow, I'm glad to be sharing the holiday with my last close friend. This will be the first one that we have ever spent together. I will forever treasure the memory that I wilI take with me.Although I have just a few remaining people close to me in my life I am still lucky because some have no one.
So tomorrow let peace, enter your heart. Enjoy your fellow man. Be thankful for the things that you have as well as the things that you once had. So friends and foes one and all from the bottom of my heart. I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. Cling to the things you value. Rejoice in the blessings that you have received and say a prayer for those not as fortunate. God speed.
