Draic Coakley Accuses Rogers of Bribe Scheme
On my April 04, 2025, podcast of The BCS, State of Alabama with lead editor of the Alabama Gazette Brandon Moseley Draic Coakley, who is challenging incumbent Republican Congressman Mike Rogers for the Alabama House District 3 seat, leveled hard accusations at the GOP Representative, claiming he is funneling tax dollars to fund the Ukraine War in a contract-for-contributions bribe scheme.
Tax Payer Funded Proxy War
"Will you give them the contract after they donated so many billions or millions of dollars to your campaign, or do you know how they funnel money back in? So what you have is basically taxpayers' money going to fund them for their projects or whatnot, and then they're turning around and funneling the money back to the members of Congress. So I think Alabama is already in deep trouble, and we're already hurting there."
Ignoring Voters
Hurting Alabama
Coakley did not stop there, saying Rogers is hurting the state, "Alabama is already hurting. How are we hurting? Because we have members that, like you said, are on the Armed Services Committee. But let me tell you a little bit about that real quick. So think about it like this. You're on the Armed Services Committee. You're writing the government contracts, authorizing and writing in the government contracts for these war industry contractors, correct? So these war industry contractors are to you?"
Stay Tuned
More to come in this contested race to see who will be the next House member from AL-CD 3. The GOP primary will be held in June 2026.
