A 12-year-old Alabama boy died after accidentally shooting himself while playing with a loaded gun on Christmas Eve, police said. Police said the shooting happened in the 1300 block of Birmingham Pike around 5pm Sunday. The officers who went to the scene found that the boy had been shot in the alley. The boy was taken to the Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators said they believe the boy accidentally fired the gun while playing with it. The shooting remains under investigation.
